THE RIGHT ATTITUDE
My professor, Mr. Rivera pushed me every day to be at school, he always told me to aim for 100% and nothing less. He expected me to put my full effort in everything I did, which also taught me that attitude is a huge factor in the medical field. I have so much respect for Mr. Rivera because without him I wouldn’t be where I am today. He helped me graduate and Izabella helped me get hired with my amazing family at Foot and Ankle Alliance. I’m pleased to say I got hired to be the right hand medical assistant of a surgical center in Woodland Hills with the amazing Dr. K. I’m excited to see what the future has in store for me!

OPENING DOORS
“My advice is to never give up because failure is just a word that tells you to try again. No matter how many times things may get overwhelming, one day you’ll be able to look back at all those sacrifices you made and say it was worth it. If you want a change in your life then you need to start taking risks, otherwise you’ll be in the same place. There are twenty four hours in a day, if you sleep for 8 hours, you still have 16 hours left. The way you decide to spend it depends on you. Being at UEI has made me a better person in many aspects in my life. I went to many different high schools and never finished but when I came to UEI it just felt different. I was able to complete it as I got my Business Office Administration diploma. This has opened many doors for me and I know this is just the beginning. My teacher Ms. Rodriguez was a huge help and I can't thank her enough, as well as, the staff at the Encino campus. I especially want to thank Career Services who really took care of me and thanks to all of them I am now employed.”

PROUD GRADUATE
“I feel blessed to be part of this school to advance my education. I am the first generation from my family to graduate from college and get a college certificate. UEI has impacted me in so many ways including my career and education. I am proud to say that I am a future graduate from UEI Encino and graduating with a certificate in Business Office Administration. After graduation, my career goal is to start as a Human Resources Assistant and advance to Human Resources management positions. Once I get experience as an assistant, I will go back to school and get my Bachelors degree to further advance my career.”

MEMORABLE MOMENTS
“After graduating two months late from high school and finding out I was pregnant at 17, I had really given up on my dreams. A few months after I had my son, I met up with my best friend for some breakfast and she invited me to her graduation. I attended the UEI graduation and listened to people’s stories. Some spoke about poverty. Others, diseases, things that were nowhere close to the position I found myself in. That day, I felt like I had so many opportunities in this world and I was letting the most minimal obstacles stop me from moving forward. A few days later, I called the school and the sweetest counselor spoke to me. She even let me bring my son to the meeting I had with her. I’m now on my 5th MOD here at UEI and I can say it has been the best decision I’ve made for myself all year! The most memorable moment I have had this year was for my birthday here on campus. Aside from just finishing my favorite MOD, accounting, that month and receiving an honor roll certificate, everyone made me feel so special. To be in a room almost all week for 5 hours a day with people who you don’t see as classmates anymore, but family, is so heartwarming. I wasn’t planning on doing anything that day, but I felt so special receiving a cake… just something I’ll never forget. So, thank you UEI. Thank you for giving me so much.”
