Be the Change

UEI College is committed to supporting racial equality.

We stand in solidarity with the African American community for social justice.

Jasmine V.

Phoenix Campus Finalist

When I was working at McDonalds, a customer was saying racist comments to another customer in front of him, calling him the N word, saying he should go back to Africa, and all the negative comments you can think of. The customer who I was helping out was an African American man with disabilities that was my neighbor years ago. I ended up stopping the man who was saying racist comments to him and told him the change needs to be done by us. We need to love each other and one another because just how he’s disrespecting an elderly man who can’t really fight back, they can disrespect one of his family members. A few weeks later the gentleman who was disrespecting the older African American man came and apologized to me for bringing hate to my work station, he said he soon realized that what I mentioned to him was true.
